Group Therapy
I offer one off or ongoing facilitation for therapeutic groups. As a person-centred therapist I am very influenced by "encounter groups," developed by Carl Rogers. These are unstructured groups of varying lengths, with open space for silence and connection, trusting in the inherently healing nature of the group process. Informing this, I trained at Heart Wood in Northumberland, under the guidance of nature-based therapists Rab Erskine and Chip Ponsford. In the woods at Heart Wood they use a contact-oriented approach that works with fire making, soup making and some loose structure. Heart Wood's model works particularly well for groups where there has been trauma experienced.
Depending on the needs of your group I am happy to work with you to develop a facilitation approach and structure that can work for you.
